Family Vacation

Tzfat has, for many years, been a spot where many people have looked forward to vacationing in Israel. Before the introduction of air conditioning in Israel, Tzfat was a "happening" bohemian-like village where Israelis enjoyed coming to enjoy the air, the art and the atmosphere.

Over the years, the Tzfat landscape has changed, becoming more religiously-oriented, and this has impacted on the types of visitors who come to Tzfat. Holiday and summer vacations still see many non-religious visitors, but in addition, more and more religious people come to Tzfat to take advantage of the proximity to religious sites and surroundings.

Most of the hotels and guest houses in Tzfat are geared towards couples and small families, so for larger families, finding an appropriate place to stay that suits their family's size can be a challenge.

Meyers Guest House

One guest house designed to accommodate large families is the Meyers's Guest House, located in the center of the Old Jewish Quarter. The Meyer Guest House is situated in the Kiryat Sanz neighborhood, a complex of homes and apartments that was established recently for members of the Sanz Hassidic community. The neighbors of the Meyers' House are friendly and welcoming, and enjoy meeting the guests who come to stay in their area.

The Meyer's guest apartment is equipped to sleep six, with the option of adding mattresses on the floor for additional guests. It is wide and spacious, with bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a living room area.

The kitchen area has also been well thought-out to plan for a good-sized family. It offers a full-sized refrigerator and stove-top. The oven is reserved for dairy baking, but there is a hot plate for heating meat meals for Shabbat and holidays, as well as an electric hot-water kettle for weekdays and an electric hot-water kettle for Shabbat. The living room has a full-sized table and chairs for families to sit together for meals. The bathroom has a tub and a hand-sprayer for showers.

The Meyer guest house is spacious, clean, airy and pleasant. Since it is located in the Old Jewish Quarter, it is within easy walking distance of all the historical and religious sites of the Old City, the galleries and shops of the Artist Quarter, and the restaurants and coffee houses of the main commercial area. There is parking nearby. The guest house is located in Kiryat Sanz, on Rehov Tarpat, near the Sanz synagogue
