Pri-El Gallery and Guest House

Often, as visitors meander through the lanes and alleys of Tzfat, they look at the old stone buildings and wonder aloud "does anyone live here?" Their confusion is understandable. The buildings which border the lanes give few hints that behind their stones, families live in homes which are, aside from the Tzfat stone and arched doors and windows, very much like their own.

Such is the case with the Pri-El Guest House and Gallery, which sits on a corner along the Rimonim Street. The Treister family lives several stairs above the Guest House and gallery, but few visitors would guess that on the other side of the wall lies one of the Artist Quarters most refreshing spots for overnight guests to stay and enjoy Tzfat.

Accommodations Conveniently Located

The Pri-El Guest House is a large area which is comfortably set up for a couple, or a couple with a child. It is conveniently located across the street from the Rimonim Hotel , allowing guests to enjoy the same ambiance and conveniences of the hotel - meals can be arranged at the hotel and the Rimonim pool and spa is available to use for a daily fee.

The Pri-El Guest House offers guests a double bed with an extra fold-out bed. The unit is bright and sunny, and guests are able to enjoy complete quiet and privacy while, at the same time, being able to walk outside into the thriving excitement of the Artists Quarter.

A kitchenette is equipped with a microwave and a fridge which makes the Pri-El Guest House an attractive option for guests who will want to prepare some of their own food. Shabbat guests will be pleased to know that a Shabbat platter and hot water jug make it easy to stay over for Shabbats and holidays, with all Shabbat needs taken care of. The tzimmer also has a table and chairs which allow guests to easily eat in the guest room with no need for any additional arrangements.

Pri-El Gallery

Guests at the Pri-El Guest House, as well as other visitors to Tzfat, are also invited to walk next door into one of the Artist Quarter's most unique and creative exhibitions. The Pri-El Gallery is one of the Artist Quarter's finest galleries, exhibiting the works of the proprietress, Shoshana Treister, as well as one of Tzfat's best-known Tunisian artists, Raphael Uzan. Shoshana's oil paintings are vibrant and satisfying renditions of the scenes that one sees as one wanders around Tzfat, and are favored by visitors who wish to remember the unique scenes and scenery of Tzfat and Northern Israel.

Raphael Uzan's work is similar to the well-known Shalom of Tzfat, who popularized the art of creating meaningful artwork and Judaica through microcalligraphy.  In recent years, his work has become prized by collectors, and an extensive exhibition of his works is on display at the Pri-El Gallery.
